The Kolla
By Daniel Guy Christmas Morning. Lisa slips from Jake’s bed silently so she doesn’t wake him, and then creeps downstairs with her phone, to have a furtive chat with Claire from HQ. Returning twenty minutes later with a tray of coffee, juice and chocolates, she climbs back into bed. He rouses, smiles, sits up. They kiss as lovers kiss. Jake’s a happy man, in his big grey house, content to be exactly where he is, drinking coffee with his gorgeous girlfriend Lisa. She sits beside him wearing his red satin dressing gown and looking oh so beautiful with her long red curly hair and mischievous eyes. They exchange their presents, she gets a gold bracelet peppered with diamonds. She kisses him again, then nonchalantly fetches out a small box neatly wrapped in silver paper.
